TORONTO, Ont. - Laurier Golden Hawks swimming head coach
Cathy Pardy has been named the recipient of three Swim Ontario coaching awards at the organization's annual Hall of Fame celebration.
Pardy was named a World Class Performance Coach, after coaching a para athlete to a top five world ranking during the 2025 season, the Top Male Swimmer Para Coach of the Year, and Top Female Swimmer Para Coach of the Year.
"I have so much love for coaching and mentoring athletes as a whole and I accepted these awards humbly," said Pardy, who's been in her role with the purple and gold since 2018. "It's such an honour to be included in their celebration of success."
"Receiving these awards is a nice acknowledgment of my contribution to that."
Pardy, who was named OUA swimming's Coach of the Year for the 2023-24 season, attended her first Olympic Games in Paris that summer to coach a swimmer from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
This past year, she oversaw a memorable Golden Hawks season in which the men's relay team finished top 10 at U SPORTS for first time in 25 years and an individual swimmer (
Kent Goni Avila) won a nationals medal since 2001.
The 2025-26 meet schedule gets underway with the Ravens Tri-Meet on Saturday, October 4 at the Carleton Pool in Ottawa.
