After celebrating the rejuvenation of Alumni Field at its official opening April 20, the Wilfrid Laurier University community looks forward to the next steps in the exciting multi-phase Seagram Drive Athletics and Recreation redevelopment project. The university's Board of Governors recently approved Phase 1 of the project, which sets in motion the first of many proposed improvements to enhance athletic excellence and community engagement with top-level facilities – and launch Laurier's Waterloo campus into a new era of health and wellness.

About University Stadium

Located east of the Waterloo campus, at 81 Seagram Drive, University Stadium is home to Golden Hawk football, lacrosse, rugby and soccer teams as well as a number of Recreational programs. Featuring a full sized gym and Knight-Newbrough Field, University Stadium hosts a number of campus events during O-Week, Homecoming and summer camp programming. 

The Knight-Newbrough Field is named after Dave "Tuffy" Knight and Rich Newbrough, both Golden Hawk Hall of Fame inductees. Knight and Newbrough were Laurier coaches during the 1970's
