WATERLOO, Ont. - Golden Hawks Victoria Nascimento and Dayton Price are the Laurier Athletes of the Week, presented by The Hawk Shop.
Nascimento, a first-year education major from Acton, Ont., led the Golden Hawks women's lacrosse team to a pair of wins this past weekend over Western and Brock.
She scored six goals against Western, which was half of Laurier's goals scored, and had four against Brock. Nascimento is first in the OUA West in goals with 15 and tied for second overall.
She was a leader on the field that created movement in the offensive end, and her patience led her to be able to take advantage of the scoring opportunities that arose.
Price, a first-year communication studies major from Hamilton, Ont., had a great opening weekend for the Golden Hawks golf team.
He shot a 66 (-5) in the Guelph Fall Kickoff which earned him an individual bronze medal and scored a 71 to tie for ninth in Kingston at the Bert Kea Invitational.
Price helped the men's team finish first in Guelph and second in Kingston.
This is the first Laurier Athlete of the Week award for both Nascimento and Price.
