BURLINGTON, Ont. - Laurier men's curling skip
Kibo Mulima has been named an OUA Athlete of the Week along with Guelph women's curler Katrina Frlan, Western wrestler Jonelle Clarke and Wateloo Warriors squash student-athlete Cameron Seth for the period ending February 8, 2026.
Mulima delivered a commanding performance at skip to lead the Laurier Golden Hawks to another OUA men's curling championship, guiding the program to its fifth championship in the past six years.
The fifth-year communications studies major from Inverary, Ont. secured an unprecedented fourth career OUA gold medal, capping an exceptional five-year run in purple and gold.
He helped steer Laurier to a perfect 7-0 record while outscoring opponents 55-18, shooting a stellar 85 per cent overall.
He posted game highs of 94 per cent against Western and 91 per cent versus Queen's in pool play, then maintained his consistency on playoff Sunday with 85 per cent in the quarterfinal and 86 per cent in the gold-medal win over Carleton to clinch the championship.
