Job Description:Â
We are on the search for the next voice of the Laurier Golden Hawks basketball program. Our PA Announcer will convey information to the attending crowd to enhance fan experience through engaging vocal inflection, concise coherent announcements, articulate correct pronunciation of student-athletes and coaching staff names.  Â
A passion for the sports and entertainment industry is key for this position. The P.A. Announcer is the voice of Laurier Golden Hawks Basketball. From calling a thrilling 3-pointer, to keeping our fans engaged and invested in substitutions, and sponsor announcements, the PA Announcer is a key element to the in-game experience for both student-athletes and fans.Â
The P.A. Announcer is responsible for in-game announcements at home games during pre-season, regular season, and playoff games. The PA Announcer will be required to work all Golden Hawks Basketball regular season, playoff, and exhibition games, typically hosted on Wednesday – Sunday evenings from late October – late February/early March. Â
QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â
JOB FUNCTIONS:Â

Announce gameplay actions (eg. Points/goals, substitutions, fouls/penalties) and reads during quarter breaks, halftimes, and time-outs. Â

Take direction from Full-time staff Coordinator, Marketing and Events and Coordinator, Game Day Operations, as well as any Student Leaders. Â
