This Golden Hawks National Rankings Update is presented by Westpoint Sports

WATERLOO, Ont. - The first Canadian University Men's Rugby National Top 10 for the 2024 season is out and Laurier is in the mix.

Despite a 52-17 loss to the three-time defending OUA champion Guelph Gryphons in their season-opening match on the road this past Saturday, the Golden Hawks still find themselves in the #9 spot for the week ending September 8.

Guelph (#2) and Queen's (#4) are the other OUA programs who were named to the top 10

The ranking is conducted among university men's rugby program coaches across the country and run until nationals, hosted by the Ottawa Gee Gees from November 13-17.

Laurier is back in action this Sunday for the team's home opener against the Western Mustangs. 

Kick-off at Knight-Newbrough Field is set for 3:30pm. Admission is free.
