Golden Hawks men's hockey announces 2024-25 regular season schedule

WATERLOO, Ont. - Laurier's 2024-25 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) men's hockey regular season schedule was released Wednesday. The Golden Hawks open its 28-game campaign on home ice at the Waterloo Memorial Rec Complex (WRMC) on Friday, October 4, at 7 pm against the Western Mustangs.

Laurier's home schedule features six games before the end of 2024 and eight once the calendar changes to 2025.

The purple and gold's longest homestand is three games, which occur twice, between October 4 and 10 and January 23 and 31.

The Golden Hawks will play six of seven games on the road between October 13 and November 9, including match-ups against eastern conference opponents RMC, Queen's, UQTR, and McGill.

It won't take long for a rematch of last year's OUA quarterfinal series to occur, as the Golden Hawks will host the TMU Bold in just its third game on Thursday, October 10. The Queen's Cup finalist Bold completed the best-of-three sweep to end Laurier's season.

The latest chapter of the annual Battle of Waterloo is set for October 24 on home ice, with the second and third contests to be split between the Columbia Ice Fields and the WMRC on Thursday, December, 5 and Thursday, January 23, respectively.

The purple and gold won the season series last year, winning two of three. They have also won four of the last five and seven of the past 10 regular season head-to-head meetings.

Laurier's Senior Night is set for the team's final regular season home game on Saturday, February 15, at 7 pm against the Windsor Lancers.
