Aiden O'Toole and Tristan Tremble commit to Golden Hawks men's hockey

WATERLOO, Ont. - The Laurier Golden Hawks men's hockey program has taken the first step toward its 2026-27 recruiting class, announcing the commitments of forwards Aiden O'Toole and Tristan Tremble.

O'Toole joins the Golden Hawks from the St. Michael's Buzzers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), where the 19 year-old put together a standout campaign.

The six-foot-two, 192-pound Mississauga native led the Buzzers in goals (28), assists (51), and points (79) across 56 regular season games, with his assist total ranking among the top 10 in the OJHL and his 79 points placing him 11th overall in the league.

He added seven points in six playoff appearances, while also bringing a physical edge, recording 122 penalty minutes - tied for the third-most in the league.

O'Toole's all-around impact made him one of the most dynamic players in the OJHL this past season, combining high-end offensive production with a responsible, hard-nosed game in all three zones.

"Aiden was one of the most dynamic players in the OJHL this year," Laurier's manager of men's hockey operations and head coach Kevin Forrest said.

"He dominated offensively while also maintaining a strong defensive presence. Known for his toughness and competitive nature, he plays the game the right way in all three zones. We're excited to add a player with Aiden's skill, work ethic, and edge to our group."

O'Toole described his game as one that blends physicality with offensive creativity.

"I bring a very physical and scoring play style on the ice," he said. "I also like to add a lot of play-making into my game to create high-end scoring chances for my teammates."

Tremble, a 20-year-old forward from Milton, Ont., brings a combination of size, speed, and offensive consistency after spending the past four seasons with his hometown team.

The six-foot, 176-pound forward appeared in 202 career games, registering 41 goals and 96 assists for 137 points, and served as an assistant captain in his final season.

He is coming off a career year, setting personal bests with 21 goals, 47 assists, and 68 points, and leading the Menace in assists and points this past season, while continuing to establish himself as a reliable two-way presence.

"Tristan is another player with good speed that will bring offence and size to our forward group," Forrest said. "One of our priorities this off-season was to add a right-shot centreman, and Tristan is a perfect fit for our need at that position while also possessing the other traits we are looking for right now."

Described as a physical, hardworking forward, Tremble plays a power game while contributing offensively through consistent production and strong puck skills.

"I bring strong playmaking ability, consistently creating scoring opportunities for my teammates with smart puck movement and vision," Tremble said. "I'm tough to play against, using grit to make an impact in all areas of the ice. I also make quick, effective decisions under pressure that help drive the team's overall performance."

The Golden Hawks are expected to continue unveiling additions to their 2026-27 recruiting class in the coming weeks.
