BURLINGTON, Ont. - Rookie goaltender
Andrew Ness of the Laurier Golden Hawks has been named to the 2025/26 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) all-rookie team following a standout debut season in net.
A first-year psychology major from Winnipeg, the 21-year-old Ness quickly established himself as one of the conference's top goaltenders.
Ness finished the regular season with a U SPORTS-best .930 save percentage while posting a 2.58 goals-against average, ranking ninth overall in the OUA and first among rookie netminders. He also recorded two shutouts during the campaign.
In 860 minutes of action, Ness compiled a 10-4 record, tying for the ninth-most wins in the conference and finishing with the second-most victories among OUA rookie goaltenders this season.
Ness follows fellow Laurier Golden Hawks goaltenders Christian Propp (2021-22) and Matt Williams (2019-20) as the only Golden Hawks netminders on record to be named to the OUA all-rookie team.
