HALIFAX, NS - After recently earning provincial honours, Laurier Golden Hawks goaltender Andrew Ness has also been named to the 2025/26 U SPORTS all-rookie team, further recognizing his standout debut season.
A first-year psychology major from Winnipeg, the 21-year-old Ness quickly established himself as one of the conference's top goaltenders.
Ness finished the regular season with a U SPORTS-best .930 save percentage while posting a 2.58 goals-against average, ranking ninth overall in the OUA and first among rookie netminders. He also recorded two shutouts during the campaign.
Despite appearing in just 14 regular season games, Ness still ranked among the top 20 goaltenders nationally in both wins and with his aforementioned goals-against average.
He is the first Golden Hawks goaltender to be named to the U SPORTS all-rookie team since Christian Propp in 2021/22.
