Golden Hawks wrap season with bronze medal at PCA Cheer Canada Collegiate Nationals

BRAMPTON, Ont. - In a stunning display of athleticism, Laurier's premier all-girl cheerleading team showcased their talent at the 2024 Cheer Canada Collegiate Nationals and secured a commendable third-place finish out of eight teams from coast to coast.

The team scored 78.5 in their first run, leaving room for improvement going into their second.

Despite the rigorous schedule and a mere four weeks of preparation after their return from the World Championships, the Golden Hawks brought their A-game to the mat. The team refocused and had a solid second run, finishing with a total score of 134.2.

Facing stiff competition from the Guelph Gryphons and the Western Mustangs, the Golden Hawks executed two solid routines that left the audience in awe.

"We are so impressed by the team's commitment and tireless dedication", said head coach Carli Thomas and her team of assistant coaches. "While we missed taking home the gold this year, we are excited to celebrate their achievements and look forward to building on this success in the seasons to come".

The Golden Hawks' cheerleading team continues to solidify its reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the collegiate cheerleading circuit, setting the stage for future triumphs.
