UNION, Ont. - The Laurier Golden Hawks women's golf team placed sixth at the Western Women's Invitational on Monday, posting a team score of 267 at West Haven Golf and Country Club.
Leading the way for the Golden Hawks was Olivea Pope, who carded an 85 to finish in a tie for 17th place overall in a field of 40 competitors.
Ava Mauro followed closely with an 86, good for a share of 21st place.
Alicia Cromack added a 90 to place 29th, while Alessia Lorimer finished 37th after shooting a 97.
Laurier's team score of 267 placed the Golden Hawks sixth among eight teams.
Guelph captured the team title with a score of 230, while host Western finished second at 235 and Toronto was third with a 249.
The tournament marked the second consecutive day of competition for the Golden Hawks after opening their week at the Brock Invitational on Sunday.
Laurier returns to action this weekend at the Waterloo Women's Invitational, hosted by the Waterloo Warriors at Cambridge Golf Club in Cambridge on Saturday and Sunday.
The Golden Hawks will then head back to Cutten Fields in Guelph for the second time this season when they compete at the Gryphon Invitational on Monday, September 28.
