WATERLOO, Ont. - For the first time in his OUA playing career, forward Aidan Whalen was recognized as a conference second team all-star for his performance with the Golden Hawks men's basketball team this season.
The public safety major from Cambridge, Ont., capped his Laurier career by starting all 22 regular season games for the Golden Hawks and finishing seventh in the league in points per game with 18.4 and fifth in points per 40 minutes with 26.5.
He also became the ninth best all-time single season scorer in program history with 405 points.
Whalen was dangerous on all offensive fronts. He was fourth in free throw percentage at 83.7%, second in three-point percentage at 46.0%, putting him eighth all-time in a single season for the Golden Hawks, and his 57 made three-pointers were tied for sixth most in a single season. He also shot 50.2% from the field.
