Day 4 Recap: Golden Hawks women's curling finish round robin 7-0; face Dalhousie in semis

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - The Golden Hawks women's curling team completed their undefeated run through the round robin on Thursday at the U SPORTS/Curling Canada University Championships.

Laurier's rink skipped by Emma Artichuk found themselves down 4-1 after three in the afternoon draw at the Lethbridge Curling Club, but it wasn't enough for Dalhousie (4-3, 4th place) to beat the best team in the championship.

The purple and gold went on to score in five consecutive ends, stealing five straight points to complete the 7-4 comeback.

In the evening draw, the Golden Hawks scored three in the second and recorded another stolen triple in the fifth, to take down Lethbridge (1-6, 7th place) by a score of 7-1.

The victory resulted in the purple and gold being the only team to go undefeated at 7-0 through pool play.

Having advanced to the 1 vs 4 semifinal, Laurier and Dalhousie are set to collide again on Friday morning for the right to advance to the afternoon final.

McMaster and Thompson Rivers square off in the other semifinal.

Fans can watch the draw live on Curling Canada's YouTube page beginning at 11:30am EST.
