SUDBURY, Ont. - The quarterfinal match-ups are set at the OUA women's curling championship in Sudbury and the Golden Hawks are one of the eight teams left standing.
The pursuit of an 11th OUA provincial title is still alive even as the purple and gold split their final two pool games on Saturday, losing the morning draw to the host Laurentian Voyageurs 5-3 before stealing 14 points to begin their game against Western in an eventual 14-2 romp in six ends.
That victory ensured that pool D was locked up for the Golden Hawks rink, skipped byÂ
Emma Artichuk and including
Sarah Bailey,Â
Victoria Zemmelink,Â
Logan Shaw, andÂ
Rebecca Rankin.
Now as the #4 seed, head coach John Gabel will set his team's focus on the #5 Brock Badgers for a 9 am quarterfinal clash at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club.
The winner will move on to the semifinal round set to begin at 12:30pm with Sunday's gold and bronze medal games scheduled for 4pm.Â
All the remaining action will continue being broadcast live on OUA.tv
