Laurier finish fourth at 2025 OUA women's lacrosse championship

WATERLOO, Ont. - The #4-seed Laurier Golden Hawks women's lacrosse team battled wire-to-wire but came up just short in a 10–8 loss to the #2-seed Guelph Gryphons in the OUA championship bronze medal game on Sunday morning.

With the purple and gold looking to secure its first conference medal since 2018, Tieneke Gedge led the way for Laurier with two goals and an assist, while Delaney Keen and Tori Nascimento each netted a pair in a strong offensive showing.

Riley Marwick and Madi Snyder added singles for the Hawks, who outshot Guelph 15–12, but couldn't overcome an early deficit.

The teams traded blows through much of the match, with Laurier closing the gap to 9–8 late in the fourth before Guelph sealed the win in the final minutes.

After the game, Laurier's first-year attacker Tori Nascimento was recognized as the Golden Hawks' lone OUA all-star for the 2025 season.

In her first year with Laurier, Nasicmento, an education grad studies student from Acton, Ont., led the league with 39 goals and 46 points in 11 games.
