WATERLOO, Ont. – The Golden Hawks swim team has announced
its 2024-25 competition schedule.
Laurier begins the eight-competition season on October 5 in Ottawa at the Raven's Tri-Meet against Queen's and Carleton.
The purple and gold will host two meets this season: the annual Battle of Waterloo and the Golden Hawk Tri-Meet against Brock and York.
The Battle of Waterloo is scheduled on Halloween night, October 31, while the Golden Hawk Tri-Meet will be on November 9.
The most highly-anticipated meet for the Golden Hawks is the divisional championship. Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the return of the divisional championship, Laurier and Brock have been in a tight battle.Â
At the 2023/24 OUA Championship, Laurier's men's team beat the Badgers and, with the purple and gold having a full men's and women's roster for the first time in program history, they will aim for the divisional title.
On January 9, 2025, the Golden Hawks head to the University of Toronto for the Toronto Varsity Invitational. This meet will help prepare them for the national U SPORTS Swimming Championship at the University of Toronto in March.
The final meet for the whole team is the OUA swimming championship hosted by the McMaster Marauders at the Etobicoke Olympium, where the men's and women's teams will aim to improve upon their fifth and eighth-place finish, respectively, from last year.
