BURLINGTON, Ont. - Laurier men's rugby prop
Alex Levia, hooker
Joe Aceti, and fullback
Tejpal Sangha were all recognized by the OUA on Wednesday as part of the conference's award winners and all-stars announcement.Â
Levia, a fourth-year biology major from Toronto, was one of the stalwarts for the Golden Hawks, always providing consistent play in an up-and-down season for the purple and gold, who missed the playoffs for the first time.
"Alex really worked hard in the off-season to develop and improve his skills in the finer points of the game," said Laurier men's rugby head coach
Phil Murphy.
Â
Joining him was fellow fourth-year veteran Aceti, who's hard running and work rate were "toughness personified", according to Murphy.
"Joe won Man of the Match honours multiple times this year with his caustic style of play," he recalled.
Â
Stepping into the spotlight in his rookie campaign was Sangha, a first-year psychology major. The Oakville native was one of the most electric, high flying backs in the OUA this season.
"Tej has a great future with the program as he takes his training and growth to the next level," Murphy said.Â
