Jennifer Childs MSc., B.A., R. Kin, Certified Athletic Therapist - Athletic TherapyÂ
Jennifer has been a valued member of the Golden Hawk Athletic Therapy Team since 2003. Currently working with the varsity soccer teams, women’s lacrosse, men’s baseball and the women’s hockey program,Jennifer is passionate about helping her athletes meet their sport performance goals and maximizing their rehabilitation experience through a variety of rehabilitation methods. As an Athletic Therapist and a Registered Kinesiologist, Jennifer strives to guide athletes through an inclusive, holistic rehabilitative process. Using evidence-based methods, Jennifer employs an individualized approach to the injury recovery process based on the foundations of respect, trust and teamwork.

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Wilfrid Laurier University then continued her education at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning to receive a Diploma in Sports Injury Management. She expanded her skill set and studied at the Canadian College of Osteopathy, completing a five-year program in advanced manual therapy completing her osteopathy education. Going further, Jennifer completed her Master of Science degree at Laurier with a focus in human biomechanics, where she studied the effects of a lateral ankle sprain on balance and jumping performance in varsity athletes. She has additional certifications including First Responder, Mental Health First Aid and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

In addition to her work at Laurier, Jennifer is an athletic therapist for the Canadian National Trampoline and Tumbling Team travelling with them around the world for competitions. She has experience as medical staff personnel at several major games including the World Games, PanAm Games, Canada Summer Games, and the FISU Games. She also works on medical staffs for numerous local large-scale sporting events. Jennifer has a passion for teaching and mentoring students in the field of sports medicine and healthcare. Jennifer is an instructor at the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, where she teaches in a variety of programs including Athletic Therapy, Personal Support Worker and Kinesiology.
Natalie Paladino, R.Kin, Certified Athletic Therapist - Athletic TherapyÂ
A Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist, Paladino comes to the Golden Hawks from the University of Windsor’s Athletics Department where she has spent the past five years working with the Lancers’ varsity teams. Prior to the Lancers she also spent three years with the Guelph Gryphons at the University of Guelph.

Her experience has also taken her around the world as a member of Team Canada during the International University Sport’s Federation’s (FISU) Summer and Winter Universade Games in 2015, 2017 and 2019. In the 2017 Winter games she was a member of the women’s hockey staff, who brought home a silver medal.

Holding a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) from Brock University and a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) from Sheridan College, Natalie currently oversees care for Women’s Basketball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Rugby, Men’s Rugby, Cheerleading, Women’s Curling and Men’s Curling.

Dr. Nick Bayley, MD, FRCS(C), Dip Sport Med (CASEM) - Orthopedic SurgeonÂ
Dr. Nick Bayley obtained a bachelor's degree (summa cum laude) from Colby College in Maine and was team captain and a three-time Academic All-American for the men's NCAA hockey team. He conducted clinical research in Boston at Harvard and MIT before attending the Ivy League medical school of Dartmouth in New Hampshire. He was named the top surgical student in his graduating class.

He completed orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto and was named most outstanding resident at graduation. He remained at the University of Toronto for a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy.

Dr. Bayley is also a member of the Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) and has been involved in coverage of numerous amateur and professional teams and events.

Dr. Bayley practices in Kitchener-Waterloo at the MSK Centre, Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital with special interest in musculoskeletal trauma, sports medicine and arthroscopy.

Dr. Randy Bahadur, MD, MBBS CCFB(SEM) Dip Sports Med (CASEM) - Sports Medicine PhysicianÂ
Randy was born and raised in Kitchener. He had a keen interest in all sports growing up and has specialized in non-operative sports medicine to help athletes strive to reach their goals. He is currently working on the medical team with the Kitchener Rangers, Hamilton Tiger Cats and Laurier University. He is the founder of The Armoury Sports Medicine and Performance Clinic in Waterloo.

He completed his Fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine through McMaster University in 2012, and a CASEM member. He completed his family medicine residency also through McMaster University.

He is affiliated with McMaster University Department of Family medicine as Assistant Clinical Professor. He also teaches family medicine residents sports medicine at The Armoury.

He has traveled internationally with Canada Senior Women’s Basketball to Europe, China, and Brazil and was a lead medical at the PanAm Games in Toronto in 2015.

He enjoys playing sports, spending time with his family and supporting Arsenal FC.Â

Kaitlyn Kelly - BA, RMT, FST, CSMTA(SCM) – Registered Massage Therapist
After studying Kinesiology and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in the Faculty of Science at Laurier, Kaitlyn pursued her Massage Therapy education and obtained a Diploma of Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology.Â
Throughout her undergraduate career at Laurier, she was heavily involved in athletics and was the student trainer for the varsity men’s baseball team from 2013-2017. She was part of the OUA championship team in 2013, was the OUA All-Star Team trainer for the 2014 and 2015 games, and was awarded the Marty Walmsley Student Trainer of the Year Award in 2017.
Kaitlyn is a Sport Candidate Member of the Canadian Sports Massage Therapists Association, and her advanced training in sports massage techniques and application allows her to provide effective sport specific treatment to the varsity athletes at any time of their season.Â
In addition to her work at Laurier, she is highly involved with athletes in the community as a Jr. C hockey trainer, as well as being an RMT for events with various organizations such as Ontario Cycling and Ultimate Canada. She also attended the 2022 Canada Summer Games, and was part of the medical staff for Hockey Canada’s National Women’s U18 team’s selection camp in 2024.
Kaitlyn has additional training in myofascial cupping therapy, concussion rehabilitation, and is a Level 1 Fascial Stretch Therapist.
