WATERLOO, Ont. - The Laurier Golden Hawks women's hockey team remains third in the nation in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 rankings after another successful week on the ice.
Laurier enters this weekend with a 5-0-1 record, remains undefeated in regulation through its first six games, and has won five straight contests, capping a perfect 5-0 run during its recent homestand at Sun Life Financial Arena.
They trail only top-ranked UBC and defending U SPORTS champion Montreal in the latest top 10.
The latest poll saw several teams make significant moves though, including UNB, which jumped six spots to #4, and Mount Royal, which climbed from #12 to #6 while maintaining a perfect 6-0-0 record.Â
Defending OUA champion Guelph moved up four spots to #5, while Waterloo re-entered the rankings at #10.
The Golden Hawks will now hit the road for a pair of games in the nation's capital. Laurier opens the trip Friday night against the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 7 p.m. before taking on the Carleton Ravens on Saturday at 5 p.m.
