WATERLOO, Ont. - The Golden Hawks women's hockey team has climbed to #6 in the latest U SPORTS Top 10 rankings, released Monday.
Laurier moved up one spot from #7 in the previous rankings and enters the week with a 1-0-1 record and an ELO rating of 1602.07.
Defending U SPORTS champion Montreal sits second, while last season's national finalist Concordia is ranked third. The defending OUA champion Guelph Gryphons occupy the No. 4 spot, while StFX rounds out the top five ahead of Laurier.
UBC remains the nation's top-ranked team with a 3-1-0 record and an ELO rating of 1747.16.
Laurier's rise in the rankings comes as the Golden Hawks continue a five-game homestand at Sun Life Financial Arena.
The Golden Hawks return to action this weekend with back-to-back contests, hosting Ontario Tech on Friday before welcoming York to Waterloo on Saturday. Puck drop for both games is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Tickets for both games are available at
