RICHMOND HILL, Ont. - The purple and gold have cracked the top three.
After a dominant weekend, the Golden Hawks have moved up once again in the rankings to number three in the nation. The team beat Ottawa 5-1 and York 3-0, extending their winning streak to seven games and putting up four clean sheets in the process.
As for conference teams, the same four made the list. Previously ranked number three Queen's fell all the way to number nine, while Guelph jumped from nine to seven and Waterloo kept firm at number 10.
U SPORTS uses the Elo rating system to calculate its weekly national rankings. Elo calculates team rankings on a game-by-game basis, using an algorithm that generates a statistical calculation based on certain customized variables adapted across the range of U SPORTS team sports.
