WATERLOO, Ont. - Golden Hawks Clara Chisholm and Ty Petrou are the Laurier Athletes of the Week, presented by The Hawk Shop. 

Chisholm, a second-year psychology major from Granton, Ont., started the second half of the season on fire, leading the women's hockey team to their seventh straight win.  

The reigning OUA Rookie of the Year had six points in two games played over the weekend. Against Ottawa, Chisholm recorded her first four-point game with two goals and two assists, and her second goal stood as the eventual game-winner in a 5-1 victory.  

Against York the next night, she recorded her 11th multi-point game of her career, picking up another two assists in a 3-0 win.  

Chisholm leads the league and team in points (20) and assists (14), and her efforts have led to Laurier claiming sole possession of first-place in the OUA.  

Petrou, a first-year arts major from Pickering, Ont., helped the men's hockey team snap their slump in a two-game road trip against the Lakehead Thunderwolves.  

The rookie centreman had a goal and an assist in the first game in a hard-fought overtime loss. In the second half of the back-to-back, Petrou opened the scoring before tallying two assists in the third period in the 7-5 comeback win.  

In two games played, Petrou recorded his third multi-point game of the season with two goals and three assists for five points, and went 24 for 38 on faceoffs. He was key to picking up three points over the weekend for the Golden Hawks.  

Petrou now has three goals and eight assists for 11 points on the season.  

This was the first Laurier Athlete of the Week award for both Chisholm and Petrou.
