LONDON, Ont. - Laurier's sprint relay teams came to compete at the Don Wright Team Challenge in London this weekend.
The men's and women's teams in the 4 x 400m broke program records, creating excitement to see where they can go as the season progresses.
The women's team of
Abby Byers,
Chloe Poulter,
Alyssa Zinn, and Anisha Sabree broke the program record by two seconds, finishing first in a time of 4:07.83.
The men's 4 x 400m team of
Justice Sewitt,
Finn Moore,
Chad Thorpe, and
Nolan Kuhlberg ran 3:30.30 for third place.
In the 4 x 200m,
Luke Campbell,
Declan Di Frangia-Bennett,
Justice Sewitt, and
Russel Allen were victorious in a season's best time of 1:34.24. The team knows that once everyone is healthy, that time should still come down considerably.
Neve Rye,
Giuliana Mascitti,
Abby Byers, and Anisha Sabree also ran the 4 x 200m well to place third in a time of 1:49.79.
The team next travels to the Toronto Track & Field Centre for the York Open on Saturday, February 1.
