Luke Brubacher cracks CFL Scouting Bureau's Spring Rankings

TORONTO, Ont. – Golden Hawks defensive end Luke Brubacher has worked his way firmly into the conversation as one of the most promising pass-rushing prospects eligible to be selected in the CFL Draft on April 30.

The previously unranked Listowel, Ont. native is listed at #19 in the Canadian Football League (CFL) Scouting Bureau's Spring Edition. The 6'6", 246-pound Brubacher excelled at the recent CFL Combine, posting the third-highest vertical leap (38") and fourth-longest broad jump (10'6"). He was the only defensive end on the leaderboard for both.

Brubacher, whose six sacks place him third in the OUA this past season, joins former Laurier and current University of Illinois offensive lineman Isaiah Adams, who held onto the No. 1 spot.

Adams, from Ajax, Ont., began his university career with the Golden Hawks in 2018 before heading to Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan. after the 2019 season while football was among the canceled sports in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adams remained there for one season, enrolling at the University of Illinois, where he played the last two seasons, earning third-team All-Big Ten honours in 2022 and an All-Big Ten honourable mention in 2023 while also serving as a team captain.
