WATERLOO, Ont. (September 15, 2020) – In less than two weeks' time, the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawk Hall of Fame will welcome seven new members in the 2020 induction class as this year's inductees were announced on Tuesday.
Five athletes, one team and one builder will have their names etched into Golden Hawks history as part of the celebration. This year's athlete inductees include men's basketball guard Max Allin, men's football running back Dillon Campbell, women's hockey forward
Laura Brooker and women's soccer players Emily Brown and Kelsey Tikka. Joining them are men's basketball head coach
Peter Campbell in the builders category and the 1995 women's soccer team in the team category.
With this year's Homecoming celebrations occurring virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the inductees will be honoured over the @WLUAthletics social media channels in the week leading up to Homecoming weekend, which runs from September 25 to 27. Select inductees will also participate in a Q&A session on Zoom on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m. with more details to follow.

MAX ALLIN - MEN'S BASKETBALL (2009-10 TO 2013-14)
Allin becomes the 12th player in men's basketball team history to join the Hall of Fame. One of just eight Golden Hawks to ever earn All-Canadian recognition, the Chatham, Ont., native was an all-around force on the court, finishing his career as Laurier's all-time leader in rebounds (799) and assists (434) while ranking second all-time in points (1745). The 6-4 guard garnered OUA All-Star honours on three occasions, including the 2012-13 campaign when he was named a CIS Second Team All-Canadian and Laurier's Male President's Award recipient after leading the country in scoring (23.2 PPG) and ranking in the Top 10 nationally in both rebounds and assists per game.
DILLON CAMPBELL - MEN'S FOOTBALL (2011 TO 2015)
One of the greatest running backs in program history, Campbell enters the Hall of Fame with plenty of lofty credentials. A two-time CIS First Team All-Canadian, Campbell holds the Golden Hawks' all-time career rushing record of 3568 yards, a mark that ranks him 18th all-time on U SPORTS career rushing list. The Whitby, Ont., native's success was fueled by a remarkable 2014 campaign in which he led the country in rushing yards with 1458, the seventh-best single season performance in U SPORTS history. He would cap off that season by being named the OUA Most Valuable Player, a finalist for the Hec Creighton Trophy and earning Laurier's Male President's Award.
LAURA BROOKER - WOMEN'S HOCKEY (2010-11 TO 2014-15)
The third women's hockey player to enter the Hall of Fame in the last two years, Brooker does so with impressive credentials. The two-time OUA Champion (2012, 2014) was an offensive force for the purple and gold, racking up 73 goals and 128 points over the course of her career, marks which rank her second all-time in team history in both categories. The Fergus, Ont., native is also the only women's hockey player to be named an OUA All-Star five times, earning first team honours on two occasions and second team recognition three times. She burst onto the scene in her rookie year, scoring 19 goals to finished tied for second in the country that season with Olympic gold medalist Hayley Wickenheiser. That success would earn her the OUA Rookie of the Year and a spot on the CIS All-Rookie Team.
EMILY BROWN - WOMEN'S SOCCER (2011 TO 2015)
Brown, the most dominant goal scorer in women's soccer team history, is one of two women's soccer players to enter the Hall of Fame this season. The Waterloo, Ont., native was simply unstoppable on the pitch during her five-year career with the purple and gold. A two-time OUA West Most Valuable Player, Brown finished her career with an OUA modern-day record of 76 goals, including a program-best 21 goals in 2014, a season in which she led the country in scoring and was named Laurier's Female President's Award winner. Brown is also one of three Golden Hawks to be named a CIS All-Canadian three times, taking home first team recognition in both 2012 and 2013, and helped Laurier win an OUA Championship in 2013.
KELSEY TIKKA - WOMEN'S SOCCER (2010 TO 2014)
Tikka joins former teammate Brown as women's soccer's additions to the Hall of Fame this season. The defender from Thunder Bay, Ont., enters as one of the most decorated players in team history, making an impact for Laurier from the outset of her career. In 2010, her presence on the back line helped lead Laurier to an OUA Championship and a CIS silver medal. Along the way, she was named both the OUA West and CIS Rookie of the Year and at the CIS Championship, was recognized as the Tournament MVP. That was just the beginning for Tikka who would be named an OUA All-Star five times, just one of two Hawks to accomplish the feat, as well as a CIS All-Canadian twice. She would also be awarded with Laurier's Female President's Award in 2012 and guided Laurier to her second OUA Championship in 2013.

PETER CAMPBELL - MEN'S BASKETBALL (2000-01 TO 2015-16)
Over the course of his 16-year career with the purple and gold,
Peter Campbell helped return Golden Hawks men's basketball to prominence in both the OUA and on a national level. Hired by Laurier prior to the 2000-01 season, Campbell was named OUA West Coach of the Year the following season after the Hawks improved their record by 10 wins. Four years later, Campbell led the Hawks to their first CIS Championship appearance in 28 years. All told, he won 155 games with Laurier, the most wins by a head coach in program history and made the playoffs every year outside of that first season. He also recruited some of the most talented players that the program had ever seen, including his year's inductee Max Allin. Following the conclusion of his career, Campbell was recognized for his accomplishments in Canadian university basketball with the CIS Jean-Marie De Koninck Coaching Excellence Award in 2015-16 and the OUA John McManus Award in 2016-17.

1995 WOMEN'S SOCCER (OWIAA & CIAU CHAMPIONS)
The 1995 Golden Hawks women's soccer team is the only team in program history to pull off the sweep of both the provincial and national championships.
The group, which featured Gigi Cignini, one of only two Laurier players to ever be named the national Player of the Year, along with fellow all-stars Lorraine Hodds and Karen Conboy, posted an impressive 8-1-3 record during regular season play.
Heading to the provincial championship tournament, the Hawks disposed of the Ottawa Gee-Gees and the Toronto Varsity Blues to reach the gold medal game. In the final, the Hawks overpowered Queen's by a score of 4-0 to win the team's fourth provincial title.
Heading out to the national championship in Ottawa, as one of the pre-tournament favourites, Laurier got past UBC and host Carleton to reach the final for the second time in four years. The final was a close match throughout but the Hawks, led by Championship MVP
Camilla Vejvalka, earned a 1-0 victory over Dalhousie to win the program's second national title.
