The women's softball team split their double header on Friday night to end the regular season for the Golden Hawks with a 14-1 record.

After giving up an early 3-0 lead to the Marauders in the top of the first inning, Laurier responded right back with three of their own with four consecutive hits. The Golden Hawks added five more runs in the second and added runs in both the third and fourth en route to the 12-5 run rule win for Laurier. Alanna Hentges was red hot for Laurier, going 4-4 with four singles and three RBIs. Camrynn Schnarr also added three RBIs while Meghan  Guillemette had two RBIs for the purple and gold. Karli Ramseyer came into the game to throw the fourth and fifth innings and shut the Marauder's down for Sabrina Barko on the rubber for Laurier.

Game two was a much lower scoring affair but the Marauder's opened the scoring in the third inning with two runs. It would stay that way until the sixth when Laurier got within one when Kristen Van Den Neucker belted a triple to right field. She eventually scored off a lineshot to the pitcher from Kathleen Gregus. McMaster responded with two more runs in the bottom half, giving Laurier a big task in the seventh in order to close out their undefeated season. The Golden Hawks would not go down easy as they scored two runs off four hits to be back within one run with runners in scoring position but were eventually retired to close out the 4-3 loss. The loss would be the first on the season for Laurier who closed out the season at 14-1.

The Golden Hawks will return home the following weekend to host the top eight teams in the country at the Canadian Championships from October 11-13 at Budd Park.
