WATERLOO, Ont. - Seven Golden Hawks survived training camp and made it into the professional ranks in the Canadian Football League.  Four of the players still remaining are in their first season with their respective teams.

From Wilfrid Laurier Andre Talbot, Taurean Allen, Justin Phillips Ian Logan, Adam Bestard, Yannick Carter and Peter Quinney have all been named to the roster.

Andre Talbot, a slotback for the Edmonton Eskimo's enters his tenth season in the CFL. He has compliled 261 receptions and 3,402 yards in his professional career

Taurean Allen is entering his first season with the Calgary Stampeders after playing four seasons with the Golden Hawks. In 2009 Taurean had 16.5 tackles, two knockdowns and one interception for the purple and gold.

Justin Phillips, a defensive lineman is entering his fourth season with the Calgary Stampeders. The fifth pick in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft, the Ottawa native has compiled 41 tackles and one sack in his professional career.

Ian Logan, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers starting safety, is entering his fifth season with the blue and gold. In his previous four seasons he has compiled 99 tackles, two sacks and six interceptions.

Adam Bestard, an offensive lineman, is entering his first season with the Blue Bombers. The Sarnia native was selected 27th overall in 2009 and was a 2009 OUA second team all-star.

Yannick Carter, a native of Pickering, Ontario, is entering his fourth CFL season and second year with the Hamilton Tiger Cats. The linebacker has compiled 62 special teams tackles in his three seasons.

Peter Quinney, a full back, made the Toronto Argonauts practice roster. The Belleville native played five years at Laurier.

Laurier's football season will start on September 1st against the Western Mustangs in London.
