A record-breaking start to the 2000 CIAU Football season has earned Wilfrid Laurier wide receiver Andre Talbot CFL Radically Canadian CIAU Offensive Player of the Week honours.

A 1999 All-Canadian, the 4th year Oshawa, Ontario native hauled in 19 receptions for 289 yards to help lead the Golden Hawks to a 29-17 victory over the Guelph Gryphons.

The 22-year old broke a nineteen year-old single game record with his 19 receptions, surpassing the old mark of seventeen set back in 1981.

Andre only needs 628 more yards receiving this season to break Stefan Ptaszek's OUA record for yardage receiving in a season.
