The job offers keep coming in for
Harvey Stables. After last year being named Mr. Romance in an international competition sponsored by the Toronto Sun, he now has yet another career opportunity. Harvey signed a two-year deal plus an option with the Montreal Alouettes on May 25, 2000. Stables was Montreal's fourth-round draft pick (27th overall) in the 2000 Canadian College Draft.
Harvey was a Kinesiology major and he played all four years of football at Wilfrid Laurier University. In the past season he led the team in receiving yards per catch with a 22.2-yard average and was second on the team for receiving yardage with 400 yards. Also, add 5 touchdowns to that list.
When asked about his former player, Golden Hawk Head Coach
Rick Zmich commented, "Harvey is not only was one of the best inside receivers in the OUA, but he also displayed his talents in being one of the finest special teams performer. His size and speed should afford him an outstanding opportunity with the Alouettes."
