Once referred to as "The essence of fluidity" by former Laurier Special Teams Coordinator & Defensive Backs Coach Dwayne Cameron,
Will Amoah joined the Golden Hawks in 2016 and was a part of the Yates Cup Championship team.Â
Amoah initially played high school football at St. Roch in Brampton before playing at St. Mary’s in Kitchener.Â
He made Laurier's dress roster for each game of his rookie year, contributing mainly on special teams. He played in 41 career games for the Golden Hawks. During that time, he had 71 solo and 32 assisted tackles, nine interceptions, and one touchdown.
His best season was his third year in 2018. Amoah had five interceptions, earning him first-team OUA all-star and first-team U SPORTS All-Canadian status.Â
During that same season, he was twice named the WLU Defensive Player of the Game in games against Windsor and Ottawa. Â
Amoah cites the latter as his most memorable, as that was the game where he recorded his first career interception.Â
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2021, Amoah worked at FedEx and Medigas.Â
Since 2020, he has been a valuable addition to the Golden Hawks football team as the assistant defensive backs coach.Â
Most recently, Will became a Special Constable at Laurier. This was a key goal for him, as he intends to become a police officer to serve his community similarly to former teammates like Osayi Iginuan, Levondre Gordon, and Michael Knevel.
