Laurier football alum Taurean Allen was a three-time OUA all-star and a second-team All-Canadian as a boundary corner.
He became a second-round selection (13th overall) of the Calgary Stampeders in the 2010 CFL Draft and played two seasons before transitioning to the corporate world. Allen spent time at recruiting firm Aerotek before joining the York Regional Police, where he currently serves the community as a Constable.
He credits the lessons learned from football (the workouts, practices, film, and training sessions) for developing a solid work ethic that lends itself to professional life. It allowed him to develop the confidence to seek new opportunities and apply his skill set in any situation.
Allen and his wife Angie have three children: seven-year-old Olivia, four-year-old Savannah, and two-year-old Chiara.
