EDMONTON, Alta. - A trio of Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football standouts showcased their athleticism on a national stage this weekend, as receiver and special teams captain
Jesulayomi Ojutalayo, fullback
Sebastian Parsalidis, and offensive lineman
Spencer Walsh took part in the Canadian Football League (CFL) Combine in Edmonton from March 27-29.
The Combine brings together the nation's top draft-eligible talent for a series of physical tests, positional drills, and evaluations in front of team scouts, serving as a key step in the lead-up to the CFL Draft on April 28, 2026.
Ojutalayo, a 2025 OUA first team all-star, delivered one of the most impressive all-around performances at the combine, tying for the top vertical jump at 38 inches.
The six-foot-two, 217-pound Shelburne, Ont., native also placed fifth overall - and first among receivers - in the broad jump (10 feet, 7 7/8 inches), while leading all receivers in both the shuttle (4.25 seconds) and bench press (14 reps), in addition to top-five overall finishes in the three-cone (6.97) and 40-yard dash (4.58).
Parsalidis, meanwhile, put his strength on display in the bench press, recording 29 repetitions to finish second overall.
The U SPORTS All-Canadian fullback continued to impress in testing, posting the top vertical jump among fullbacks and tight ends at 35 inches, highlighting his combination of power and explosiveness.
Walsh, a second team OUA all-star this past season, also turned in a solid showing among the offensive line group, finishing tied for 10th in the bench press as he competed against some of the top prospects in the country.
