WATERLOO, Ont. - Golden Hawks Abby Glandon and Tristan Malboeuf are the Laurier Athletes of the Week, presented by The Hawk Shop.
Glandon, a second-year kinesiology and physical education major from Ottawa, Ont., had an impressive opening week for Laurier's women's hockey team.
In the team's season opener against Guelph, Glandon clocked 15:39 of ice time and the purple and gold's lone goal of the game, which came on the power play.
Against Brock on Friday, she added another tally along with two assists on the power play (that went 3 for 5) in 17:46 minutes of work.
It marked Glandon's first OUA multi-point game in the regular season.
Malboeuf, a second-year goaltender from Oakville, Ont., was a key factor in the men's hockey team's first two home games.
In the team's home opener against York, Malboeuf made 31 saves on 33 shots for the 4-2 win, and on Saturday against Windsor, Malboeuf stopped 31 of 34.
His .925 save percentage places him atop the OUA save percentage leaderboard among goaltenders with a minimum of two games played. He also now sits in a four-way tie for the most wins in the crease with three.
This is the first Laurier Athlete of the Week award for both Glandon and Malboeuf.
