Golden Hawks Hall of Fame to welcome 2025 inductees

WATERLOO, Ont. - Four elite student-athletes, a decorated coach, and a record-setting championship team will be enshrined in the Golden Hawks Hall of Fame class of 2025, presented by Aramark.

Five different sports are represented in this year's induction class, including women's hockey and basketball, men's rugby and golf, and football.

All inductees will be honoured in a ceremony on Friday, February 7 at the Savvas Chamberlain Music Building beginning at 6pm.

The event is open to the public and tickets are available for purchase at tickets.laurieratheletics.com.

The 2025 honorees to the Laurier Golden Hawks Hall of Fame are:

Nicole Morrison (women's basketball) - A former team MVP, two-time OUA all-star, and the female President's Award winner in 2018, Morrison will be enshrined as the women's basketball program's current record holder for most points in a game, season, and career.

Andrew Quattrin (men's rugby) - The most decorated men's rugby student-athlete at Laurier, Quattrin currently remains the first and only Golden Hawk from the program to be named an OUA MVP, which occurred in 2017. Named an OUA first-team all-star three years in a row from 2014-2017, he was also named the team's rookie of the year and a CIS All-Canadian in 2014 . A three-time team MVP, he also is a previous winner of the Fred Nichols Community Service Leadership Award and a Golden Hawk Award of Excellence.

Austin Ryan (men's golf) - Just the second golfer in the program's history to be inducted into the Golden Hawks Hall of Fame, he became the fourth Golden Hawk to win the OUA's Len Shore Trophy as individual men's champion in 2016. A three-time OUA all-star, he was a former team rookie of the year and three-time MVP.

Kurleigh Gittens Jr. (football) - A Yates Cup champion in 2016, Gittens Jr. was a two-time team MVP, a four-time OUA all-star, and a two-time U SPORTS All-Canadian. His career culminated in being named the OUA MVP and Laurier's male President's Award winner in 2018.

Rick Osborne (builder, coach) - Laurier's manager of women's hockey operations and head coach for 15 years from 2003-2018, he led the Golden Hawks to nine OUA championships plus the program's first (and only) national title in 2005. A two-time OUA women's hockey coach of the year, he finished his career with a regular season coaching record of 265-96-24 and 57-26 in the playoffs.

2009/10 OUA Women's Hockey Champions - Coached by Osborne, this OUA champion team, which also won CIS bronze, remain the winningest in program history with an overall record of 41-3-2.

The Golden Hawks Hall of Fame was created in 1986 and, over the past 38 years, has grown to more than 200 inductees - including former Laurier varsity student-athletes, coaches, builders of sport, and 28 teams.
