Golden Hawks shut out on the road at Western

LONDON, Ont. - The Laurier women's soccer team played the final game of a two-match set against the Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon. Laurier put it all on the line but the offence was hard to come by as the Golden Hawks fell 1-0.

In an extremely defensive game, Laurier maintained the tie throughout the entirety of the first half. On the offensive side of the ball, they were unable to create any chances, recording no shots in the first half of the game.

Western broke the deadlock in the 67th minute taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Hannah Vickers. Although that is all they would get, Laurier was only able to record two shots throughout the whole match. While Western took 16 shots, only five were on target, with goalkeeper Tara Isama turning away four of them.
